This project included design and
inspection of the historic bridge in Hemphill County for a
pedestrian/bicycle path.
Design included the refurbishment of the bridge's
trusses, floor beams and floor support system, cleaning
and adjustment of the bridge bearings to ensure the bridge
structure would safely support the predicted weight of the
pedestrian/bicyclist traffic expected to utilize the
bridge, replanking of the bridge, installation of a
handrail system, construction of vehicle access barriers
on both sides of the bridge, and reconstruction of the
approaches to the north and south ends of the bridge.
