IntroductionFor 2,000 years since the departure of Jesus Christ from the earth, men have sought to understand the details of the Second Coming, and, of the end of the earth as we know it. Certainly the disciples of Jesus were intrigued about future events. In Matthew, Chapter 24, the disciples called attention to the magnificence of Herod's temple in Jerusalem, at which point, Jesus explained that the temple would be destroyed in the coming years. Later, while Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples questioned privately about the end of the present age and signs of the Second Coming. Jesus answered their questions in a beautiful passage of Scripture known as the Olivet Discourse. Jesus stated that the signs of the Second Coming included wars, rumors of wars, the rising of nations against nations, the rising of kingdoms against kingdoms, famines, earthquakes, persecutions, martyrdom, hatred of Christians by the world, betrayal, false prophets, an increase in wickedness, and love growing cold, followed by the gospel being preached unto the whole world, at which time the end comes. Finally, Jesus related a benchmark event of the end of days, stated as - "So when you see standing in the holy place, the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, let the reader understand." Because of the specific direction to read and understand Daniel's prophecy, Chapters 7 through 12 of the Book of Daniel are believed to contain the eschatological keys with regard to understanding the return of Christ and the end of days. It is in the light of the directive of Christ , that the information contained within this Website has been prepared. We encourage your study and prayerful contemplation with the words of Christ - "Let the reader understand" |
