The Book of Daniel, Chapter 12

At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people will arise. There will be a time of distress which has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people - everyone whose name is found written in the book - will be delivered. [Daniel 12:1]

At the close of the final day, the angel Michael, who protects Israel, arises to battle Satan for the last time. The world is under distress like no other time since the beginning of mankind, Satan is defeated, and vengeance is executed against the fallen angels. At that time, every Jew whose name is written in the book of life receives the inheritance of everlasting life.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake; some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. [Daniel 12:2 - 12:3]

During the white throne judgement, at the end of the final day, every dead person, great and small, not taken up into the clouds with Christ at the Second Coming, as prophesied in Matthew 24 and 1st Thessalonians 4, stands before the opened books at the throne of God. Those whose names are recorded in the book of life, share in the glory of the heavens, and, those whose names are not recorded therein, are thrown into the eternal lake of fire.

But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge. [Daniel 12:4]

Daniel was directed to close up and seal the words in the scroll, as the information is not revealed to mankind until the beginning of the end of days. Prior to the final day, travel is widespread and human knowledge increases dramatically. Then, all the terminal events in the scroll transpire to completion.

Then, I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled? [Daniel 12:5 - 12:6]

One of the two witnesses standing on the bank of the Tigris River, asked the man clothed in white linen, standing above the river, about the length of the final day. Jesus the Christ, the eternal High Priest, signified by the white linen clothing reserved only for the Jewish High Priest, reigns over the earth in the final day and declares its length in years.

The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, It will be for time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed. [Daniel 12:7]

Testifying an oath of truth before Almighty God, Christ declared that the final day occurs over a time, times and half a time. That is, the final day lasts 1,260 Judaic years.

I heard, but did not understand. So I asked, My Lord, what will the outcome of all this be? He replied, Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. [Daniel 12:8 - 12:10]

Despite his request to understand the final day, Daniel was told the scroll was closed and sealed until the end of the age. Those of mankind believing in Jesus as Christ and as Lord and personal Savior before his Second Coming, receive atonement, and are as white as snow. The wicked of the world who accept not Jesus as Christ, continue in wickedness to the very end. Only the wise among mankind who diligently seek understanding of the mysteries in the scroll, understand about the return of the Anointed One, as king.

From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. [Daniel 12:11 - 12:12]

Construction of an abomination to a foreign god occurs on the Holy Hill, at the site of the Jewish temple, approximately 1,290 Judaic years after the departure of the Ark of the Covenant and the end of the daily sacrifice in Jerusalem. As a result of the presence of the abomination to the foreign god, Zion remains desolate until the Second Coming of Jesus as the Christ, and, the saints who reach the end of the age, approximately 1,335 Judaic years after the construction of the abomination of desolation, are blessed.

As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance. [Daniel 12:13]

Daniel was told he would die and enter into the rest of the grave, awaiting the close of the final day. Being Jewish, under the law of sin and death, Daniel arises at the end of the final day and receives his reward or inheritance during the white throne judgement.
